Identity Theft Guard Your Childrens Social Security Numbers

By Charles Essmeier

Identity theft is a growing concern among Americans, and rates among the top five complaints received by states Attorney Generals offices. A stolen identity can lead to tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt in the victims name and it can take years to completely undo the damage done to the victims credit report. Identity thieves can successfully commit crime with as little as a drivers license number or credit card number, but the ideal target of such criminals is the Social Security number. With that number in hand, the identity thief can pass themselves off as the victim and open credit card accounts, bank accounts, and even obtain home equity loans. As more Americans become aware of the problems posed by identity theft, consumers are doing more to protect themselves. This has inspired thieves to look to a new source of identities to steal, and they have found one. They are now stealing the identities of children.

Established in the 1930s the Social Security Administration was set up to provide benefits for retired Americans. Taxes are withdrawn from the paychecks of eligible workers, and each worker is issued a Social Security number in order to keep track of his or her benefits. Over the years, and despite the intentions of those who created the system, the Social Security number has become a de facto national identity number. It is difficult, if not impossible, to engage in most financial transactions without providing that number to the other party in the transaction. In fact, the number itself has become as important as the name of the person who holds it. Over the years, criminals have discovered that by obtaining the Social Security number of someone else, all kinds of illegal activities are possible, including obtaining loans in the names of the owners of the stolen numbers.

With more people now aware of the potential of identity theft, consumers are more carefully protecting their personal information. As a result, thieves are now targeting the Social Security numbers of children. A law passed in 1989 requires parents of newborn infants to register for a Social Security number for their child. That child will probably not need that number until he or she is a teenager, when the number might be necessary to obtain a drivers license, open a bank account, or get a job. In the meantime, the number is not only unused, but the theft of it may go unnoticed. Thieves who obtain a Social Security number of a child know that they can probably use it for a decade without being caught. How can you protect your child from identity theft? Treat your childs personal information as if it were your own, and guard it carefully. Dont give out the Social Security number of your child unless it is absolutely necessary, and if you arent sure if its necessary, ask. Some doctors and hospitals, for instance, request the number as a matter of course, but they may not actually need it. Check to see if your child has a credit report. You can obtain one for free at the free credit report Website. Your child, if not working, shouldnt have a credit report, so if the credit bureaus have one on file, you may have a problem. A childs personal information is as useful to an identity thief as that of an adult. Guard yours and your childrens identification carefully.

Two-thirds of U.S. college students to carry heavy debt after graduation: graduate in 2009 owed $ 24,000 per person. U.S. non-profit “plan student debt,” said director of Ai snow, coupled with a graduate loan, and parents who borrow the money, estimated that each students complete their studies, an average of $ 80,000 in debt. U.S. Department of Education statistics that defaulted student loans over the past five years, the doubling in a year nearly 25 million deadbeat, the delinquency ratio of 7%. In contrast, the ratio of credit card debt in arrears is 8.8%, 9.1% for housing loans. Because most student loans provided by the government, any lender of deadbeat taxpayers had to pay for the final.

Activists said the student loan crisis, mortgage crisis may be far more serious, because the majority of student loans and other debt is different from almost no consumer protection laws and regulations, can not be re-run loans and even bankruptcy can not ignore them. This has resulted in people who could not pay student loans could lose everything, even the death of all the parties could not escape.

Grand New Jersey couple’s only son last year to participate in a car accident shortly before the Securities and Exchange Examination killed, the results they claim the student loan scheme to guarantee their loans more than 81,000 U.S. dollars in debt. This is when the car salesman, respectively, and school teacher couple said: “how are we to do? How we come up with so much money?” This is what millions of American students and families facing problems.

And to consider more than 30% hike next year, has triggered a strong rally of students.

Because most of the state’s economic recovery funds have been spent now, and very likely, the plight of the state budget will not end. University of Chicago’s Mansueto Library suffers power outage

Monday, May 30, 2011

The University of Chicago’s Joe and Rika Mansueto Library was shut down by a power outage for a short time on Saturday, preventing library personnel from providing full services to its patrons.

The US$81 million library, which opened May 16, includes a 180-seat reading room under a 691-panel glass dome. Five stories underground, a system of five cranes retrieves books sorted into bins, carrying a maximum of about 3.5 million volumes. As of 3:50 p.m. CDT, the automated storage and retrieval system, along with staff computers at the circulation desk, were shut down, preventing patrons from retrieving materials stored underground.

The glass ceiling normally allows enough natural light to pass, but rain clouds in the area darkened the room. Patrons began to flip light switches in front of their seats, but to no avail, and a circulation clerk announced that there had been a power outage. Some patrons then moved to the adjacent Regenstein Library, which still had power. Power was still running along the corridor linking Mansueto and Regenstein Libraries, along with the nearby restrooms and Special Collections Research Center.

An electrician arrived at the building at around 3:50 p.m., and power had been restored by 5:45 p.m.

Protesters dance for gay rights, health care at Philadelphia ‘Queer Rager’

Friday, January 27, 2017

On Wednesday night more than 1,000 protesters, most of them part of the LGBT community, staged a dance protest they called the “Queer Rager” outside the Leows Hotel in Philadelphia’s Center City, where the U.S. Republican Party has arranged a retreat. Gay rights and health care featured amongst the issues raised.

Protesters expressed concerns about traditional gay issues, but Republican U.S. President Donald Trump’s impending repeal of the Affordable Care Act, law enforcement, climate change and other issues were also visible. Signs included “Health Care Is a Human Right,” “BROWN BLACK LGBTQ LIVES MATTER,” and “Trans Bodies Are Beautiful.”

Titled “Queer Rage(r): Guerrilla Dance Party,” participants were invited to dance and carry signs. Like the Women’s March last Saturday, this protest was organized partially through Facebook.

The focus for tonight is to call attention to the ways in which queer and trans, especially queer and trans black and brown people, do not have access to a lot of healthcare

Event organizer Hanako Franz told ABC Channel 6, “The focus for tonight is to call attention to the ways in which queer and trans, especially queer and trans black and brown people, do not have access to a lot of healthcare.”

“Get ready to WERK it out,” reads the event’s official Facebook page. “As they try to take away our health care, to police Black, Brown, Trans and Queer bodies, to regulate our bodies, we’re here to say #WeAreQueer #WeAreHere #WeWillDance.”

This is part of several events, including a rally by health care professionals, expected to continue until today, when the retreat ends. One event, which has been given the go-ahead by the city of Philadelphia, is expected to draw 3,000 participants.

Get Back Beautiful Smile With Dental Implants

Get Back Beautiful Smile with Dental Implants

by

Ron Barbanell

Most individuals looking to have their teeth replaced turned to dental implants as a reliable option. The reason for this is that dental implants have proven to be durable, safe and a viable replacement option for missing teeth. Dental implants replace the missing tooth, while at the same time not harming the neighboring teeth.

Individuals with a beautiful smile tend to have more self-confidence. This is a fact that almost every one of us can attest to. Throughout our lives we have all had to deal with a dental problem, no matter if it is a missing tooth, a cracked tooth or discolored teeth. When facing these oral health problems, our self-esteem diminishes. If we have a missing tooth, especially one in the front, our first reaction is to put our hand over our mouth when we talk or when we laugh so that others do not notice that we have missing teeth.

In addition to the negative impact on our self-esteem, dental problems can be very harmful if not treated in the long term. Dental care is expensive. It is a good idea to become familiarized with the prices that different oral surgeons charge for dental implants so that you can find one that provides high-quality service and cheap dental implants. Advances in dental implant technology have greatly reduced the recovery time for patients.

Dental implants are not for everyone. For example, people who have poor oral hygiene or who have addictions to drugs or alcohol that could lead to infection or diseases may want to avoid dental implants. This includes individuals who chew tobacco, smoke or use illicit drugs.

Dental implants

installed by a reputable dentist will last for a long time. High-quality dental implants do not need to be expensive. There are many options available that are fast, safe and reasonably priced. Sit down and talk with your dentist and ask about the different pricing options that they have available. Have them tell you about the high-quality, cheap dental implants they have available. Let them work with you to help you improve your oral health, improve the beauty of your smile, remove any pain or discomfort that you have, and help you get back to having the quality of life you deserve.

Ron Barbanell began performing dental implants in 1979 after a year-long program offered at the University of Southern California. I have successfully placed thousands of implants since then.
